OUR MISSION

To support community food programs, reduce
food waste, and foster conversation about
food by rescuing healthy food that would otherwise
be thrown away by grocery stores and restaurants.

OUR TENETS

Decrease Hunger

We aim to reduce hunger by collecting safe food that would otherwise be thrown out and diverting it to community food programs that make the food accessible to those in need.

Reduce Food Waste

Around the world, nearly a third of all food produced is wasted, and food waste costs Canadians $31 billion a year. Global food production generates a third of human-made greenhouse gas emissions. Decreasing the amount of wasted edible food can make a huge environmental impact.

HOW REHARVEST WORKS

We coordinate recurring pick-ups of safe and healthy food from bakeries and grocery stores.

We organize volunteers to pick up and transport the food from the donor organization to a local community partner.

Our community partners deliver food programs with the rescued food to help feed our communities.
